Hot Wax and Fire

There was a camera attached to my body since childhood. My camera inspired me to travel, or was it the other way around? Applying encaustic to photography, sparked that creativity I had only felt in the darkroom. The touch of paper, the welcome heat, the smell of bees; keeps me centered with nature. More than a decade into my journey, I am pushing the limits of wax into all forms of art. While building a house in Mexico, I learned old world painting techniques used in the UNESCO part of the town. Exploring these materials are my lastest challenge.
