Laura Moriarty makes process-driven works with pigmented beeswax whose forms, colors, textures and patterns result from processes similar to those that shape and reshape the earth. Her pieces have a feel of deep earth.
In this 3 day workshop you will explore Laura’s amazing process on handmade Japanese papers. Sumi ink, encaustic paints, floating into translucent forms. Students will experiment with colors, lines, and shapes, discovering a style which speaks to oneself.

What’s Included
Set in a beautiful garden setting, the well ventilated encaustic studio includes everything you need for the process. Heat guns, brushes, heated griddles, plus plenty of work space.
Lunches - Healthy lunches; coffee/tea, all day
Help from Tessa. I do suggest you stay a day or more to explore the area. I will supply you with list of things to do, Vineyards, Hot Springs, Talavera Pottery Town, and days of shopping downtown! I have 35 years of experience in Mexico, so no worries, we got you. There are so many hotels, I can help with that, too.
